Meet Dr. Mohit Datta

Education

Dr. Mohit Datta began his Neurology training at a Level 1 Trauma Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin, home to the Packers, Brewers and Bucks! Dr. Datta gained extensive experience with sports concussion management and traumatic brain injuries.

Dr. Datta relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where he completed his Neurology Residency at The Medical University of South Carolina. His exposure to neurovascular diseases in the stroke “buckle of the country” inspired him to continue his career in acute neurology.

 

Experience

Dr. Datta completed a fellowship in Neuro Critical Care at John’s Hopkins University focusing on traumatic brain injury, tumors, and neurosurgical care. Here, he continued his practice and treatment in concussion and brain injuries. He continued his interest in academic neurology at Ohio State University in Columbus in the level 1 trauma center, the official treatment center for Ohio State Buckeyes.

He practiced at an adjunct faculty in Acute Neurology at UNC Health NC and Atrium Health NC and ECU at Greenville NC. Dr. Datta is on the faculty at the University of South Carolina Department of Neurology and is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and faculty development. Dr. Datta served at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, SC practicing as a NeuroIntensivist from 2017 to 2025. He now practices across the state of South Carolina and Georgia treating patients with traumatic brain injury, concussion management, post traumatic headache, seizure, epilepsy, stroke, brain tumors, brain aneurysm, spinal cord injury, and more.
